A Post Doctoral position in Modeling Coupled Hydroclimatic Effects of Agriculture
Posted 04/09/08

Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment (SAGE) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is inviting qualified individuals for a Post-Doctoral appointment to participate in a recentNOAA funded research project, focusing on the impacts of irrigated agriculture on hydrology and climate at global scales. We seek an individual with strong quantitative/programming skills, experience in land surface hydrology and regional climate modeling, and with general interest in better understanding human-dominated landscapes. The successful candidate will join a small team of reseachers (made up of student and faculity members) with diverse interests and research projects within SAGE. SAGE is a world-renowned research center housedwithin the Gaylord Nelson Institite for Environmental Studies and is famous for examining the linkages between natural resources, human health and security, and changes in the global environment. SAGE staff and students conduct cutting edge research on these critical problems, and disseminate that knowledge through publications, innovative teaching, and outreach at the Universit of Wisconsin-Madison.

Interested candidates should send application materials including CV, one-page statement of research, and the names and addresses of three references to Dr. Mutlu Ozdogan ozdogan@wisc.edu as a single electronic file. The preferred starting date is May 1, 2008 but the position will remain open until filled. The position is funded for an initial 12-14 months, with a strong possibility of an extension.
