Quasi–geostrophic motion, potential vorticity equations, E–P fluxes, Rossby waves, boundary layer processes, wind–driven ocean circulation and western boundary currents, barotropic and baroclinic instability, tropical flows. Prereq: ATM OCN 610 or cons. inst.
