Course Description
Topics in earth system science. Emphasis on the coupling between atmospheric, oceanic and land surface systems, involving physical geochemical and biological processes, and including interactions with human systems. Prereq: Grad St.
Course Content
Climate Change: Science and Issues This course will have two objectives: (1) to initiate a discussion of climate change research and issues amongst a broad group of graduate students and faculty at the University of Wisconsin, and (2) to establish broader interdisciplinary thinking habits among graduate student researchers who are interested in climate change. Topics for discussion will be broadly divided among: (i)science and understanding of the climate system; (ii) climate change impacts on natural systems, including adaptation; and (iii) societal impacts, including adaptation and mitigation.
