Weather Discussion Grading
Both the class and Dan will grade the weather discussions. (class =50% of grade, Holly=50% of grade)
You will receive qualitative comments and a quantitative score.
You are expected to attend EVERY weather discussion. Any unexcused absences will result in deduction from your final weather discussion grade.
Students will grade each other on a scale of 0-100. The score should represent how the presenter did in the following areas:
Graphics
Are they clear and easy to see?
Are there too many or too few?
(Hint: using the UW-NMS is always a good idea)
Support of Event
Is the event mesoscale?
Do the graphics support what you are saying?
Are you answering "why" and "how"?
If the event is atypical are you showing why?
Organization
Does your presentation follow some logical order?
Did you start with the "big" picture and then focus?
Presentation
Can we hear and understand you?
Are you able to answer questions?
Students will also answer the following qualitative questions:
What was the main focus of the weather discussion?
What knowledge from class was applied to the discussion?
What was the biggest strength of this discussion?
What was the biggest weakness of this discussion?
Comment on the presenter's organization and preparedness.
