I am interested in the carbon cycle of the Great Lakes. I am looking to use the MITGCM parameterized by Val Bennington for Lake Superior and re-parameterize it for Lake Michigan. I am also looking at studying lake acidification of the Great Lakes and the effects that the invasive zebra and quagga mussels have had.
B.S. 2010 Beloit College Beloit, WI
My undergraduate degree consisted of a major in chemistry and a minor in history. While obtaining this degree, I became interested in moving into a discipline where I could apply my knowledge in chemistry, physics, and mathematics. My interest in ocean biogeochemistry started during a summer research internship at the marine institute IFM-GEOMAR in Kiel, Germany.
I love sports (particularly baseball and football) and was a pitcher on the Beloit College baseball team. I also really like traveling and history.
