  • The week of 20-24 April 2009 has been declared as Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin. 
    The week of 27 April - 1 May 2009 is Air Quality Awareness Week (sponsored by EPA & NWS)
    Wednesday, 13 May 2009 is NOAA Weather Radio All-Hazards Day in Wisconsin
    The week of 16-22 May 2009 is National Safe Boating Week (sponsored by National Safe Boating Council)
    Since Wisconsin borders on two of the Great Lakes, rip currents can pose a hazard to swimmers. The National Weather Service Offices in the Great Lakes States have joined with those along the Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific coasts in issuing rip current threat information when appropriate. The Milwaukee-Sullivan Forecast Office will participate in  Rip Current Awareness Week (31 May - 6 June 2009).
