NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE

a) What does URL stand for? (Ask your friendly DoIT employee--they will be happy to tell you.)
b) given the URL's on your handout, type them in and describe what you see at each location (just a sentence or two...)
II. "Jumping" to different sites using links.
a) Given the URL on your handout, find the following link: "Purdue Weather Processor". Then use the link: "Goto Main Index"
After that, find this link: "Forecast Model Data".
After that, find "Extended Range Forecast (to 10 days)".
Then, "9 Panel Forecast Charts", and, finally, "MRF 9 panel Forecast Plot".
In a couple of sentences, describe what you see.
b) Using the "Back" button (underneath where it says "File") get back to this page.
Then type in the URL: "http://thunder.atms.purdue.edu/gopher-data/mrf/mrf_10d_9panel.gif"
(I know, it's a pain to type all that in. Deal with it. By the way, if you don't know how to get the _ symbol, it is the underline key, (shift and -) )
Now get back using the "Back" button.
III. The Search Command
a) Click on "Net Search", then click in the pastel-colored box. You should get a cursor flashing at you. Type in "tornado" and return.
b) Click on two sites from the search results and describe in a sentence or two what you see.
c) FEEL FREE TO EXPERIMENT!! (Using the Search command, that is!)

Go back to the AOS 101 homepage (the first page you came in on, with the tornado and lightning) and click on "Find" at the top of the page.
