Anniversary Celebration

  • Update: Registration for the 75th-anniversary celebration is now closed. There is an AOS Open House on Friday, October 6, from 8:30am–2:30pm, and no registration required. Scroll down for details.

AOS is celebrating its 75th anniversary on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 5–10 pm at the DeLuca Forum in the Discovery Building. This event will be a chance to reflect on the department’s rich history and toast to its bright future. It will also be a great opportunity to catch up and make new connections with the AOS community: alumni, colleagues, supporters, and friends, along with current faculty, staff, and students.

    Here's the schedule:

    - 5-6pm: Cocktail hour
    - 6–8pm: Dinner and speeches
    - 8:30pm–close: Sundogs performance
  • Lodging

  • We have reserved a limited number of rooms at two hotels (listed below) in the Madison area. Our events coincide with UW–Madison Homecoming Weekend and a home football came, so lodging in and around Madison may be difficult to find. We recommend securing accommodations as soon as you can. Please contact us at communications@aos.wisc.edu if you have any questions.

Radisson Country Inn & Suites Madison/Monona (group code UWAOS)

Hyatt Place Madison/Verona (group code UWMA)

To book a room, please contact the hotel directly and mention the group code.
  • Responses requested for a slide show

  • As part of our 75th-anniversary celebration on Friday, October 6th, we’re hoping to create a “Get to Know AOS Alumni” slideshow that will play during the event. This is a great way to foster connections with other alums and give current students perspective on the wide range of career possibilities with an AOS background.

If you’re willing to participate, please send the following information to communications@aos.wisc.edu:

    - Name and graduation year
    - Where do you work? (or did work if retired)
    - Favorite AOS memory during your time on campus
    - Photo of yourself (doesn’t have to be formal)
  • Other Events
