Leila Jean Gabrys
I am a rising PhD student in AOS, researching in the CIMSS Cloud Group with Dr. Michael Foster. I received my Bachelor of Science in both Atmospheric Sciences, as well as Environmental Studies here at UW-Madison in 2023. In August 2025, I received my Master of Science for my thesis on Great Lakes lake-effect clouds and evolution from a satellite perspective. My research interests include (but are not limited to) cloud physics, convection, and satellite meteorology. In my free time, I enjoy walks through Madison, hiking, as well as crocheting and crafting with my rescue cat, Jeffery.
