Affording the Professional M.S.

We have priced our program at a competitive rate of $1,000 per credit for a total cost of around $30,000 for the degree. Tuition waivers are available for Wisconsin resident veterans and other groups, and scholarships are available. Contact us to inquire. Part-time enrollment is allowed too.

Each year, there may be some money set aside for scholarships to recruit students on merit or need. Additional information on financial aid can be found at the Graduate School funding information page and the UW Office of Financial Aid including information on loans and filling out the FAFSA. Check our Scholarships and Fellowships page for additional links to external funding opportunities. Application fee waivers based on need can be made to the graduate school at this link or by contacting the program.

Please note, Professional M.S. degree students are not eligible to receive tuition remission from graduate assistantships or other appointments which grant waivers of tuitions and/or academic fees. Accepting a tuition waiver while enrolled in the program may lead to removal of the student from the cohort.

UW-Madison undergraduates who have taken AOS courses can also receive discounted tuition by transferring up to 7 credits of coursework taken for the professional master’s during your time as an undergraduate student. Up to 7 credits numbered 300 or above may be counted toward degree course requirements, based on review and approval by the program director. These credits also count toward graduate school’s minimum graduate coursework (50%) requirement if they are in courses numbered 700 or above. None of these credits may be counted toward the minimum graduate residence credit requirement (16 credits). Coursework earned five or more years prior to admission to a master’s degree cannot be used to satisfy requirements.
